Indian Chicken Recipes


1. Tandoori Chicken :


One of the most famous Indian foods is Tandoori Chicken which is loved by people all over the world. Even though this dish is easy to prepare,it gets its name from the way it is cooked in a tandoor, or clay oven. After the marination in a spiced yogurt mixture, the pieces are threaded onto skewers, and then placed in the tandoor to cook.It includes turmeric powder and red chillies, which give the tandoori chicken its signature orange hue.

2. Butter Chicken :


Butter chicken was introduced in 1950’s in Delhi, India at the Mohi Mahal Hotel. Legend has named as butter chicken to appear as something unique in addition to the fact that it does have a little butter mixed with the gravy ingredients.

3. Chicken Tikka masala :


Tikka means chunks or bits. Chicken tikka masala is a delicious dish in which pre-marinated pieces of chicken are grilled and then added to a very thick, creamy gravy. The marinade consists of yogurt and spices, and this creamy is a traditional mixture of Indian spices and onion and tomato, with a bit of cream added to create a smooth and rich finish.

4. Chettinad Chicken :


In South India, this curry is quite blazing. There’s no reason why you can’t reduce the chilies to suit your own palate. The whole spices are toasted and then grounded, later mixed with ginger and garlic pastes, to make thick consistent spicy past. The combination of  curry leaves and tomatoes, along with the chicken simmers until tender to create a delicious and spicy curry dish

5. Chicken Curry :


This is a basic of chicken recipes is also one of the tastiest. Although many chicken curries include yogurt or cream, this basic recipe creates a thickening agent by grinding the fried onions into a paste and processing the tomatoes with the garlic and ginger paste. Water is added at the end to balance out the consistency. Serve chicken curry with hot Indian flatbread or plain boiled rice

6. Mughlai Chicken :



The thick, creamy gravy of Mughlai Chicken is inspired by the food of Central Asia and came to India during the rule of the famous Mughal dynasty. It is a supreme dish for special occasions, but not because it takes long to cook or requires special ingredients, but since it is so rich and flavoursome tasting. Cook and cherish the royalty.

7. Chicken Dhansak :


This is a great dish as it tastes even better the next day with the combination of healthy ingredients. Can also be  made with lamb or goat but is just as delicious with chicken. It is a Persian and Gujarati recipe combining lentils, vegetables, meat, and spices. Don’t be obstructed by the number of ingredients because most of the spices are made for the masala powder.

8. Chicken Saagwala :


A common dish in northern India, chicken Saagwala consists of pan-fried chicken. This combination of spinach and a flavorful sauce makes it as a healthier choice on the menus.  This dish tastes very yummy with a pair of hot Indian flatbread or plain rice and which makes a complete meal with the whole family and which is also great to prepare.

9. Chicken Cafreal :


It is highly sophisticated  of the famous Portuguese peri-peri sauce, this delicious, tangy, hot dish is the Indian equivalent of Portuguese-style grilled chicken. It is a spicy dish but the chicken can either be traditionally deep fried or grilled. With only a few ingredients chicken, garlic, lemon, chilies,  and ginger, you can have this on the table on a lively week night.

10. Ambur Chicken biryani :


This is one of the most well known south Indian biryani variety from Ambur,Chennai Tamilnadu. This is a small district in Vellore district in Chennai and we can see the outlets in Banglore,Hyderabad and Singapore. It is made with short grain of rice called sambha or jeeraga sambha rice, this consists of minimal spices and slightly brown in color due to the nature of the meat.
